Building a Stronger Stroke Care Network for Timely Treatment
Timely treatment is the key to reducing the impact of stroke. However, access to specialized stroke care remains limited in many regions. Astra Stroke India Foundation is committed to establishing Stroke Ready Centres in collaboration with hospitals and healthcare providers to ensure that patients receive rapid diagnosis, immediate treatment, and coordinated care when every minute matters.
By strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving emergency stroke response, this initiative aims to make quality stroke care more accessible to communities across India.
About the Program
The Stroke Ready Centres program focuses on developing healthcare facilities equipped with the necessary expertise, protocols, and resources to provide prompt and effective stroke management. Working closely with hospitals, neurologists, emergency physicians, and healthcare professionals, Astra Stroke India Foundation supports the creation of centres that can identify, diagnose, and initiate treatment without unnecessary delays.
These centres are designed to provide a seamless continuum of care—from emergency response and diagnosis to treatment, rehabilitation, and follow-up support.
Why Stroke Awareness Matters
Every minute during a stroke, nearly two million brain cells can be lost. Delays in diagnosis and treatment can significantly affect recovery and long-term quality of life.
Stroke Ready Centres help by:
- Providing rapid evaluation and diagnosis of stroke patients.
- Reducing treatment delays during medical emergencies.
- Improving access to evidence-based stroke care.
- Enhancing coordination between emergency services and hospitals.
- Increasing the chances of recovery through timely intervention.
- Supporting better long-term outcomes for stroke survivors.
Well-prepared healthcare facilities can make the difference between recovery, disability, and loss of life.
